Site Manager

SUMMARY:
Site Manager required for 1 year contract to build an industrial warehouse in Brackenfell, Cape Town

POSITION INFO:

Duties:

• Management of construction projects from contract award to final completion
• Planning of and execution of site logistics in terms of plant utilization and positions, site establishment, access and egress points etc.
• Setting up and implementation of site specific safety plan and requirements and continuous evaluation of same
• Developing and implementing Quality inspection and test plan and continuous evaluation of same
• Preparation and distribution of the contract programme and information required schedule and continuous updating and communication of the same with consultants, staff and subcontractors
• Receive, study and distribute of all drawings, instructions, information on each project
• Chairing of regular subcontractor meetings and staff meetings
• Preparation of and reporting on progress reports with the consultant team
• Preparation of and reporting on cost reports to senior management
• Responsible for overall successful safety, quality and budget implementation on each individual contract
• Responsible for timeous delivery of each contract and to establish sound client relations
• Preparation of and submitting of contractual correspondence such as notifications of potential delays as well as actual contractual claims
• Negotiating and agreeing such claims with the Principal Agent
• Ensuring that adequate resources in terms of our own personnel as well as those of subcontractors are in place to ensure timeous completion
• Close liason with project quantity surveyor relating to issues of appointments, contractual issues and budgetary issues
• Ensuring staff and labour welfare and motivation, as well as implementation and monitoring of all relevant legislation
• Ensuring that the relevant stages post Practical Completion are dealt with as quickly as possible and all issues resolved

Summary:

This position reports to the owner of a Warehouse development in Brackenfell and is responsible for all site based staff and sub contractors. The project is a R50 million development of a 6500m2 Warehouse

Project duration is 12 months starting 1 August 2021
