SUMMARY:
Our client in the mining sector is seeking a SITE MANAGER with mining sector experience to join their project team in Kuruman.
The Site Manager is accountable for the overall direction, co-ordination, and execution of the sites mining related activities, in a manner that fosters a culture of zero harm and ensures consistency with the company's objectives and plans.
**South African Citizens and those living in the area will be preferred**
POSITION INFO:
Requirements:
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Blasting Certificate
- 5 year's experience in a similar role
Key Duties of Site Manager- Management of open cast mining activities on site.
- Drive daily production targets as set out by the client.
- Daily attendance of production meetings.
- Oversee day-to-day operations, assigning weekly performance goals and assuring their completion.
- Maintain project timelines to ensure tasks are accomplished on time.
- Drive cost saving strategies and budgeting within workflows and site task objectives.
- Develop strategic plans for optimised production.
- Ensure adequate resources in terms of manpower and supply chain.
- Review and improve organizational effectiveness by developing processes, overseeing employees, establishing a highly motivated work environment.
- Management of employee performance and discipline.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to subordinates and create innovative approaches for improvement.
- Pursue and drive a culture of zero harm on site through a meticulous focus on health, safety, and environmental strategies ensuring that all aspects of the site and work is completed in adherence to HSE standards.
Minimum Requirements- NQF Level 6 / 7 qualification in Mining, Mine engineering, Mining science.
- Opencast Mine Blasting Certificate of Competency
- Minimum 5 years site managerial experience

- Ability to motivate and lead people.
- Intermediate to Advanced Computer literacy skills (Ms. Office - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook,Teams).
- Strong problem solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Good Presentation skills.
- Good representation of the organisation with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work under extreme pressure.
Special Requirements:- Medically Fit.
- Driver's License.
- Sometimes required to work outside office hours.
- Sometimes required to travel for work purposes.
