Site Reliability Engineer required for a company in Edinburgh that can offer an environment totally different to the rest of the Scottish market.
This company comes under the 'tech for good' sector. Right now, they are building out their primary product which has just gone to market and have another product in research and development right now.
The company are building out their Site Reliability team, so are looking for a third SRE to be a part of the team. Technical skills are important, but what is more important to the team is that you will be passionate, collaborative and communicative, and keen to champion the function.
Right now, everyone is remote, but there's still a massive focus on collaborative work between the technical teams. This role spans the two main parts of the business and are working towards microservices.
The technical environment consists of an Azure environment including Azure DevOps, but as long as you have some strong experience across any cloud platform, they'd be happy to chat to you!
Ideally you will have experience with most of the following tools/tech:
** Helm, Terraform, Vault, Azure DevOps, Azure AD
** Kubernetes (K8's)
** Containerisation: Docker
** CI/CD pipelines
** Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
** Git
** Linux / UNIX scripting
This is a fairly rare opportunity, with the chance to join a team and a company that a) genuinely care about you but b) also really care about the planet and using their skills for good.
The salary on offer is up to £75,000 for the right person (and the team can be flexible around this), but this would be dependent on experience. I'd be really keen to speak with those that are a wee bit less experienced too. On top of that is a generous holiday package (7 weeks!) amongst other benefits such as private health insurance and discounted gym membership.
Culture is also a huge focus for the company (and they aren't just saying that!). This includes everything from board game nights to changing communication tools due to feedback to flexibility/work-life balance being a huge focus.
They are just starting to phase back to in-person working, and would like folk onsite their Edinburgh city centre office Tuesday through Thursday each week. They are looking at a Glasgow office as well, so if you are keen but live a bit too far away from Edinburgh, please do apply!
Please do apply and/or reach out Erin at Cathcart Associates for more info.
