Site Technician – Facilities Management – Kuils River
About the Role:
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Site Technician to take charge of technical operations and infrastructure maintenance across our retail and service locations. This role is hands-on and multifaceted, ideal for a proactive problem-solver with a strong background in electrical, mechanical, plumbing, construction, and general facilities management. You will play a vital role in ensuring that our sites run safely, efficiently, and reliably.
Key Responsibilities:
Electrical
- Conduct on-site diagnostics, fault finding, and compile electrical test reports.
- Read and interpret electrical diagrams and circuit schematics.
- Execute wiring plans for lighting and other system installations.
- Assemble, test, and maintain electrical appliances and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical faults.
- Manage DB boards, generators, and solar systems.
- Maintain supply inventory and order necessary electrical parts.
Technical Support
- Advise management on obsolete or hazardous electrical equipment.
- Inspect faulty product returns (RMA) and produce evaluation reports.
- Test and document the performance of new technical products.
- Create technical wiring diagrams for future reference and installations.
Plumbing
- Diagnose and repair plumbing systems on-site.
- Oversee and maintain the functionality of fire sprinkler systems.
- Conduct fixture replacements and preventative plumbing maintenance.
Mechanical
- Service and maintain motors, pumps, and other mechanical systems.
- Identify and repair mechanical faults across all business operations.
- Ensure carwash mechanical and electronic systems are operational and compliant.
- Construction
- Supervise minor construction projects and site modifications.
- Perform basic structural maintenance, refurbishments, and surface upkeep.
- Co-ordinate with external contractors for large-scale work.
- Maintain signage and ensure visibility and compliance.
General
- Respond to technical queries and support site operations.
- Manage product installations, replacements, and returns.
- Lead ad hoc repairs and special technical projects as needed.
- Collaborate with the management team on maintenance planning and strategy.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and technical standards.
- Source and order spare parts efficiently.
Minimum Requirements:
- Trade qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, or a related technical discipline.
- 8–15 years of experience in site maintenance or technical roles.
- Proficiency in reading technical manuals and electrical schematics.
- Strong multi-disciplinary fault-finding and problem-solving capabilities.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and attend to site emergencies.
- Excellent communication, planning, and co-ordination skills.
Salary offer: R22K – R25K
