POSITION INFO:

Are you a skilled machine operator with experience in slitting operations? We are looking for a dependable Slitting Machine Operator to join our production team and ensure efficient, high-quality output with strict compliance to safety and hygiene standards.

Role Purpose
To operate the Slitting Machine with precision, ensuring the quality of slitted rolls meets production and customer standards. This role is responsible for efficient machine operation, basic maintenance, reconciliation of materials, and upholding safety and cleanliness protocols on the shopfloor.

Key Responsibilities
Machine Operation

• Run slitting machine according to the shift plan with minimal downtime
• Achieve daily and monthly production targets

Product Quality

• Ensure output aligns with job specifications and quality requirements
• Secure timely QA approvals to prevent complaints or rework

Machine Health Monitoring

• Report faults to Shift In-Charge and Maintenance Team
• Perform routine checks to avoid unexpected breakdowns

Safety & Compliance

• Adhere to safety, food safety, and hygiene procedures
• Wear PPE and follow all industrial safety standards

Input/Output Reconciliation

• Record material usage and output slitted rolls accurately
• Submit shift-wise reconciliation reports

Cleanliness & 5S

• Maintain a clean and organized workstation
• Follow 5S practices and dispose of waste properly

Learning & Team Collaboration

• Participate in training under senior operators and managers
• Collaborate respectfully with team members and support staff

HR & Plant Compliance

• Follow plant policies including attendance, dress code, and behavior
• Set a positive example of discipline and professionalism

Key Interactions
Internal:

• Shift In-Charge – Slitting
• Printing, Lamination, Quality, Maintenance, and Stores Teams

External:

• Rare interaction; only as required with external technical support or suppliers

Candidate Requirements
Education:

• ITI or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

Experience:

• 2 to 6 years operating slitting machines in packaging, printing, or plastic film industries

Core Competencies:

• Solid understanding of slitting operations, roll winding, and web handling
• Familiarity with film properties, defect types, and troubleshooting basics
• Comfortable using computers for shift reporting and material tracking
• Team-oriented with strong discipline, communication, and work ethic
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards of safety and quality
