SUMMARY:
A leading global water technology company committed to developing innovative water technology solutions on a global basis requires the above to procure and source water metrology / process control instrumentation products internationally and locally for the public utility, industrial, agricultural, residential and commercial building services markets.
POSITION INFO:
Minimum requirements for the role:
- A tertiary qualification in instrumentation or electronics or a related engineering or commercial qualification is preferred.
- A tertiary qualification in supply chain or procurement or related qualification is required for the role.
- The successful candidate must ideally have a CIPS / APICS related qualification.
- Previous experience having worked with suppliers and conducting supplier evaluations will be an advantage.
- Previous experience having procured internationally is essential.
- Must have previous experience having procured metrology or related process Instrumentation/equipment is essential for the role.Â
- Must have previous experience having worked within a procurement role procuring water meters/instrumentation or engineering or related equipment is essential.
- Must be proficient in SAP ERP including MRP and master data or related.
- Must have a thorough understanding of sourcing methodologies.
- Must have strong negotiation skills.
- A proficiency in Microsoft Office, and knowledge in ISCALA will be an advantage.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:- Procuring and sourcing water metrology/process control instrumentation products internationally and locally for the public utility, industrial, agricultural, residential and commercial building services markets.
- Developing and maintaining approved suppliers for each category.
- Developing mitigation plans for single-source spending.
- Identifying risks in a supply chain and managing programs to mitigate such risks.
- Identifying and onboarding suppliers as per procurement policy.
- Coordinating closely with internal stakeholders to execute purchase orders to vendors and following up on delivery schedules, with a constructive order management approach.
- Analysing inventory reports and monitoring the inventory replenishment process.
- Planning and executing logistics (road, ocean and air).
- Conducting and tracking key supplier performance, maintaining long-lasting relationships and partnerships with existing suppliers.
- Executing and driving supplier sustainability projects and reports to support responsible sourcing.
- Defining and executing sourcing plans in accordance with strategic sourcing methodology in launching and processes for direct and indirect procurement.
- Negotiating price, quantity, payment terms, warranties, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
