Our client in the manufacturing industry has a new vacancy for a Software Developer based in Port Elizabeth
POSITION INFO:
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS Perform all administrative duties relevant to the position. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements. Monitor and support the SCADA system, investigating and resolving system-related issues. Develop, maintain, test, and validate operational reports. Write, maintain, and optimise SQL queries and database reporting. Liaise and coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and service providers. Coordinate and facilitate OEE, SCADA, and Forklift meetings, ensuring effective planning and follow-up. Assist with the procurement process for forklift repairs, servicing, and operational requirements. Provide operational support on the production floor, including system start-up, user logins, system testing, and forklift PIN management. Monitor and maintain battery charging bays, ensuring servicing and maintenance are completed within required timeframes. Ensure compliance with all forklift safety standards and legislative requirements. Monitor supplier performance and maintain the Forklift Monitoring System to ensure operational efficiency. Develop, review, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) relating to SCADA systems and forklift operations. Conduct method studies, time studies, and workflow analyses to identify opportunities for improving forklift utilisation and operational efficiency. QUALIFICATIONS Tertiary qualification in Industrial Engineering (Essential). Qualification in an Information Technology-related field will be advantageous. Experience in programming languages such as C++, Python, VBA , or similar. Experience with SQL querying and knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and\/or Six Sigma methodologies will be advantageous. WORK EXPERIENCE Minimum of 2 years' experience in a Production, Manufacturing, or Engineering environment. Previous Project Management experience. Sound understanding of ISO 9001 and\/or IATF quality management systems. Demonstrated ability to apply structured problem-solving and analytical techniques . OTHER REQUIREMENTS Project Management qualification or experience will be advantageous. Excellent disciplinary and attendance record. Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Sound decision-making and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work effectively under pressure while motivating and leading team members. Valid South African driver's licence (Essential).
