Looking to join a multinational leader in Technology? We are looking for a talented Software Engineer to join our clients award-winning team in Stellenbosch. This role will be responsible for carrying out software and algorithm development in C, C++, MATLAB and other languages for new products and applications.

Education:

Relevant Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Computer Science

Skills/Experience required:

At least 2 years of experience in software development
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and can comfortably communicate and collaborate with team members in USA, Canada, Taiwan and Europe
Proficiency in writing embedded software in C or C++
The following would be highly advantageous:
- Knowledge and experience with radar signal processing and algorithm development
- Experience in designing and testing electronic hardware.
- Experience in managing and interfacing with database systems
- Practical experience with machine learning
- Familiarity with version control tools (e.g. Git) and Continuous Integration
- Knowledge of communications protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, and CAN, and the ability to test and debug these using tools such as logic analysers
- Knowledge of wireless communications, including Bluetooth, Wi-fi and ANT+
- Experience with ARM processors and assembly language o Knowledge of Agile (Scrum) software development methodology
- A personal passion for fitness, health and outdoor activities

Job Description:

Investigate new low-cost radar technologies
Create brand new consumer products that amaze customers, and which they use every day
Take high-quality products through mass production and into the market
Design and implement embedded software using C/C++
Contribute to radar algorithm development and optimisation using MATLAB
Participate in software release testing and hardware/software integration testing
Find the technical root cause of a variety of problems, and provide reliable solutions using sound problem-solving techniques
Contribute towards software requirements, architecture, detailed design and test plans
Participate in peer reviews of software designs, algorithms and source code
Exemplify company’s mission of creating superior products that are essential to their customers' lives
