SUMMARY:
Major role player doing sub-contracting design work for clients in the mining, military, railway and security field. Our client wants to appoint a Software Design Engineer with solid skills in embedded , C/C++ on Linux/ Unix . ideal person will have skills in Python and the Qt frameworks. Product design for collision Control Gas detection , perimeter designs etc.

POSITION INFO:
Position: Software Engineer (Electronic / Computer Engineer)
Location: Centurion
Salary Range: TBA

Well established SA company with several design products requires a software engineer. With over 30 years’ experience sub-contracting and consulting to major role players across the Electronic Product development market, the prospects of learning and getting involved in new challenges are there. Software engineer with a minimum of 5 years required to fill this position.

Qualifications Required (Minimum):

B Tech/BEng Electronic Engineering Degree or
B Tech/ BEng Computer Engineering Degree

Skills Required:

Electronic circuit design experience (2+ years)
Extensive embedded software development experience (5+ years)
Highly proficient in C and C++ programming
Experience with real time operating systems, e.g. FreeRTOS.
A firm understanding of typical microcontroller peripherals, i.e. UART, SPI, I2C, ADC, interrupt controllers, etc.
Experience in the development of bootloaders, device drivers and application software on a microcontroller platform
Qt framework experience will be advantageous
Experience with scripting languages, e.g. Python, will be advantageous
Experience with Java and/or Visual C# will be advantageous
Unix/Linux development experience will be advantageous
