  The Role:

  We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer Senior for a fixed term contract for Pretoria.

   

  Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Support of the Release Upgrades (SPAU, SPDD) ABAP debugging beneficial (Workbench related knowledge of new development/enhancements)
  • Governance over Software Quality aspects (Code Reviews, ATC-Configuration)
  • Setting up the organization structure of Materials Management and perform all relevant configuration for example Purchase Organisation, Valuation Area Plants, Storage Location and Warehouse structure, etc
  • Preparation of testing documents and perform internal testing
  • Preparation of Master Data templates for various objects like Material Master, Vendor Master, Excise Master, Info-records, Source List and Purchase Orders.
  • Integration testing with other modules
  • Understand interfaces, IDOC and RFC's processing
  • Preparing the cut over strategy for MM objects
  • Preparing User manuals and conducting training to business process owners
  • Go-live preparation and post Go-live support
  • Interaction with clients through meetings, calls and emails
  • Handling Tickets and Tasks with the responsibility for closing the same within defined SLAâ??s (Service Level Agreements)
  • Responsible for troubleshooting issues for the system and providing support
  • Executing the required changes through configuration
  • Executing the analysis and resolution of Production Support calls
  • Raising Change Requests (CRâ??s) and writing Functional Specifications for them
  • Preparing test data for testing of CRâ??s (Change Requests)
  • Testing CRâ??s (Change Requests) and preparing test results
  • Carrying out regression testing
  • Interact with consultants of other modules
  • User interface transactional solutions

   

  Qualifications and Experience needed for he role:

  • Degree in IT or relevant experience
  • 5+ years

  Skills and Experience:

  Essential Skills Requirements:

  • Strong ABAP Development skills including but not limited to:
  • Clean Code
  • SAP Software quality Tools (SCI, ATC)
  • Experiences in test driven development advantageous
  • Authorisations and Security
  • UI5, Fiori
  • ALE, ARFC, IDocs
  • Trouble shooting and debugging skills
  • Preparation of testing documents and perform internal testing.
  • Go-live preparation and post Go-live support.
  • Interact with consultants of other modules
  • Experience working with SAP Solution Manager â?? especially CHARM
  • Familiarity with Company's system landscape will be advantageous
  • Agile and DEVOPS experience
  • Operations experience (ticket handling, problem, incident management)
  • Jira and Confluence experience
  • Build management experience
  • In addition know-how in the following modules:
    • SAP MM (specially MRP)
  • And all ECC modules
  • Test Driven Development
  • SAP Business Technology Platform
  • Business Application Studio
  • Restful ABAP programming
  • Central Code Repositories (bitBucket, GitHub) 

   

  Advantageous Skills Requirements:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong ability to understand and interpret Business needs and requirements with the ability to move concepts through to proposal and finally successful implementation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with ability to communicate effectively (both verbally and written) with both technical and non-technical colleagues / users.
  • Should be willing to deal with (talk to) our customers. In most cases they will be foreign customers and language barriers might exist.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, inter dependent as well as independently and submit deliverables on time and in excellent quality. SELF STARTER.

  • Flexibility to take up different tasks in the project.
  • Ability and willingness to coach and give training to fellow colleagues and users when required.
  • Willing and able to travel, for up to 2 weeks at a time (international).
