Software Quality Assurance Engineer

SUMMARY:
My client is looking for a senior QA Engineer to lead quality efforts across multiple product teams. This is a remote role, open to South African residents, with occasional in-person meetups. You’ll play a central part in building test frameworks and automation for business-critical systems in the B2B tech space.

Job Description:
A leading technology company is hiring a Software Quality Assurance Engineer to establish and enhance QA processes across its software suite. The successful candidate will take ownership of product acceptance testing, define and implement QA standards, and work closely with product and engineering teams to ensure robust, high-performing software delivery. You’ll also lead the rollout of test automation frameworks and help shape a culture of continuous improvement in software quality.

This role is perfect for a senior QA specialist who enjoys solving complex quality challenges, thrives in collaborative remote teams, and has experience working in agile environments. You’ll work across both UI and API layers, and be hands-on in defining the test automation strategy across cloud-based microservices products.

Skills & Experience:
Minimum 5+ years in test analysis, design, and execution (senior level)
Strong understanding of QA frameworks and test automation strategy
Experience managing test environments on Linux
SQL skills (PostgreSQL / MySQL) for managing test data
Version control experience with Git, CLI & GUI
API testing using Postman
Hands-on test automation using tools like Selenium WebDriver, Cucumber, or Playwright
Prior experience testing in Java development teams
CI/CD pipeline experience with GitHub or GitLab
Familiarity with Docker in a cloud environment (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
Excellent attention to detail, self-management, and communication skills

Qualification:
No specific degree required, but qualifications in Information Technology, Software Development, or Software Testing are a plus. Your mindset and QA expertise are what count most.
