POSITION INFO:
Quality Assurance Engineer (first in the team) for an organisation, remote in Scotland with offices based in Edinburgh.
The company are a tech for good/not for profit company (so you get to feel good about the work that you do!) that are creating access to vital data to younger start-ups in the financial sector, allowing them to compete with big banks! It''s a platform that almost creates an incubation type hub, so you get to work with lots of companies working with the latest tech (and by proxy so do you)!
This company have huge investment behind them, and it''s a chance to join a business that really values testing and who are keen to bring it in as early as possible, as well as the ability to pick the tech you use and build it from scratch.
This is the first Quality Engineer role in the company, and they really want to push with an automation first strategy (Java or Python based ideally), although there will still be manual testing. If you have experience creating a testing strategy and automation framework that would be ideal, however there is help on hand for these.
You''ll have most of the following skills/experience:
**Experience with Python or Java for automation testing, ideally creating automation test frameworks
**Cucumber, Gherkin
**Experience developing a testing strategy and/or testing function from scratch
**Experience as a sole Tester would be a bonus
**Experience with data tools
**Experience with DevOps tools/methodology (AWS, Docker, CI/CD pipelines)
**Functional and non-functional testing
**SQL
There is a focus on ensuring tech is as modern as possible, which means you will be able to get involved in areas such as data (tools such as Jupiter Notebook, Cassandra, Spark etc.) as well as DevOps tools/methodology (Terraform/AWS).
The team are a friendly and collaborative bunch, who really believe in the company''s product and allowing widening access to data in a not-for-profit way whilst using cutting-edge products. The senior management team are also really engaged and approachable (no closed doors!) with a fairly flat company structure.
The salary on offer is between £50,000 - £65,000 depending on experience, with a remote first policy (ideally, you''ll be local enough to come the Edinburgh office every couple of weeks or so). The benefits on offer include a generous pension (14% employer contribution), a family friendly attitude and flexible working environment.
