Our client in the networks sector is looking for a Software Systems Engineer on a contract duration of 3 months.

Role Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Software Systems Engineer with strong telecommunications and billing systems experience to join their team on an initial three-month contract. This role is suited to an engineer who understands the end-to-end telco charging and billing ecosystem and can contribute beyond software development. The successful candidate will possess strong engineering and systems-thinking capabilities, enabling them to design, optimise, and enhance complex billing solutions while ensuring scalability, performance, reliability, and maintainability. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with telecom billing environments, including charging platforms, CDR processing, transaction reconciliation, event-driven architectures, and high-volume transactional systems.

POSITION INFO:

Ability to balance technical excellence with business requirements. Preferred Experience Experience within mobile network operators (MNOs), MVNOs, or telecommunications service providers. Exposure to cloud-native architectures and microservices. Experience with containerised environments such as Kubernetes or OpenShift. Knowledge of CI\/CD practices and DevOps methodologies. Familiarity with revenue assurance and financial reconciliation processes. Experience working with highly available, mission-critical systems. Personal Attributes Strong systems-thinking capability. Self-driven and proactive. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams. Results-oriented with a strong focus on quality and continuous improvement. Qualification Requirements Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field. Relevant telecommunications, software engineering, or architecture certifications will be advantageous.
