Solar Business Development

SUMMARY:
This is a junior - mid level B2B position.

The Solar Business Developer plays an important role in growing the brand by collecting information from inbound leads. He or she will have to be enjoy talking to potential customers and should be comfortable on the phone. 40% - 60% of the work week will be spent making calls and following up with existing leads.

POSITION INFO:
Responsibilities:

• Responsible for making first contact with qualified leads to collect information.
• Responsible for the end to end sales process for projects that fall within a certain category.
• The Solar Business developer, together with the team, will make sure his/her customers get timely and attractive proposals and will actively follow up with customers to close the deal.
• We would love it if you have affinity with renewable energy technology, but deep industry knowledge can be developed on the job.
• We do require a creative, fast-thinking mind, and a bold, but honest communication style to drive this role’s success.
• This role is full-time, based in Johannesburg, and will require some travel within South Africa.

• Honours degree in a business or technical field of study will be an advantage
• 2-4 years experience in B2B Sales/ Business Development
• Expierience in C&I Solar Industry will be an added advantage
• The ability to draw on your own business network will be an advantage
• Exceptional spoken and written English
• Excellent computer skills: MS Office, Excel, Power Point, Outlook

• Candidate must have their own vehicle and driver’s license.
• Candidate must feel comfortable traveling outside of Gauteng for up to 25% of the time
