SUMMARY:
Are you passionate about sustainable energy and ready to take the next step in your engineering career? Our client, a well-established player in the renewable energy sector, is seeking a Solar Design Engineer with 1–3 years’ experience to join their dynamic and growing team.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

Develop detailed solar PV system designs, including string sizing, inverter selection, and layout planning
Perform site assessments using tools like PVsyst, Helioscope, and AutoCAD
Conduct energy yield simulations and prepare technical design documentation
Collaborate with the project, procurement and construction teams to ensure that designs meet project and regulatory requirements
Support the preparation of project proposals, technical reports, and client presentations

Minimum Requirements:

BEng Degree in Electrical Engineering
1–3 years proven experience in solar PV system design (commercial/industrial or utility-scale)
Proficient in solar design and simulation software (e.g., PVsyst, Helioscope, AutoCAD, and SketchUp)
Knowledge of SANS, NRS and other relevant local electrical standards
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a team environment
