SUMMARY:
Job Purpose
The Solar Sales Representative is responsible for generating new business, promoting solar energy solutions, and closing sales with residential, commercial, or industrial clients. The role focuses on educating customers on renewable energy solutions, conducting site assessments, preparing quotations, and delivering excellent customer service while meeting sales targets.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development

Identify and generate new sales leads through cold calling, referrals, and networking
Promote and sell solar energy systems to residential and commercial clients
Conduct site visits and basic energy assessments
Prepare and present quotations and proposals
Close sales and achieve monthly and quarterly targets

Client Relationship Management

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients
Educate clients on solar products, benefits, and return on investment
Provide after-sales support and ensure client satisfaction

Administration & Reporting

Maintain accurate records of leads, sales, and client interactions
Update CRM systems and sales pipelines
Prepare sales reports and forecasts

Product & Market Knowledge

Stay informed on solar technology, pricing, and industry trends
Understand financing options, incentives, and regulations
Represent the company professionally at all times

POSITION INFO:
Qualifications

Matric (Grade 12) – essential
Qualification in Sales, Marketing, or Renewable Energy (advantageous)

Experience

Proven sales experience (solar or technical sales preferred)
Experience in direct sales, B2B or B2C environments

Skills & Competencies

Strong communication and negotiation skills
Target-driven and results-oriented
Good presentation and interpersonal skills
Basic technical understanding of solar systems
Computer literate (CRM, MS Office)
Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport (preferred)

Personal Attributes

Self-motivated and proactive
Professional and well-presented
Trustworthy with strong work ethic

Able to work independently and under pressure
