POSITION INFO:
We are seeking a highly experienced Solutions Architect to lead the modernization of the Local Tracking System across application, database, and infrastructure layers. This role will focus on design, strategy, and architectural guidance to ensure scalability, resilience, security, and performance. Our client operates a globally integrated logistics and production environment, supported by a mix of enterprise applications, a Global Tracking System, and a Local Tracking System. The Local Tracking System currently consists of ~140 .Net applications running on Oracle databases.
Role Objective
Design and guide the implementation of a robust, future-proof, and resilient enterprise architecture for the Local Tracking System, covering both application (.Net + Oracle/MSSQL) and infrastructure modernization (servers, storage, networks, and HA/DR strategies).
What you'll do:
- Discovery Assessment: Review and document current environment, analyze dependencies, deliver Current Environment Report.
- Design Planning: Conduct workshops, define target architecture, deliver Architecture Designs, Technology Roadmap, Project Plan.
- Finalization Sign-off: Present recommendations, deliver Final Architecture Document, Technical Guides, Stakeholder Sign-off.
- Lead architecture design for ~140 .Net applications and Oracle/MSSQL databases.
- Assess and propose improvements for servers, storage, and network topology.
- Develop High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies (RTO/RPO, clustering, failover, load balancing).
- Conduct a gap analysis and provide modernization opportunities report.
- Provide a technology evaluation (VMware, Hyper-V, Azure Stack, Dell EMC, NetApp).
- Ensure compliance with IT Security policies and industry best practices.
- Deliver detailed documentation, schematics, and knowledge transfer workshops.
- Stakeholders: IT Infrastructure, IT Applications, Production/Operations teams.
Your Expertise:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Solutions Architect in enterprise-scale environments.
- Proven expertise in .Net applications and database design (Oracle MSSQL).
- Strong background in infrastructure modernization (servers, storage, virtualization, networks).
- Experience designing HA DR architectures in large enterprises.
- Familiarity with cloud and hybrid technologies (Azure Stack, VMware, Hyper-V).
- Strong understanding of enterprise security, scalability, and compliance standards.
- Demonstrated ability to lead workshops and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- Referenceable history of delivering architecture projects in enterprise settings.
- Experience in automotive, manufacturing, logistics, or similar industries.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., TOGAF, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, Oracle Certified Architect).
