Solution Architect (EdTech)

SUMMARY:
Our client in the EdTech is seeking an experienced Solution Architect, Remote

POSITION INFO:

We have an opportunity for an experienced Solution Architect to design, build and implement systems architecture which will help meet business needs. As Solution Architect, you will be required to gather requirements and functional specifications, assess existing software systems to identify gaps for improvement and oversee the development teams.

This will involve successfully integrating any new specifications and requirements into new and existing systems. You will also be required to communicate important updates to key stakeholders and explain complex concepts effectively.

Overall, you will be joining a team of 27 members, including Product Managers, Product Designers, Frontend, Backend, Web & Mobile Engineers as well as QA Engineers. Our goal is to ship quickly and iteratively as we deliver continuous value to our customers.

The team functions using agile methodologies and is very high on ownership and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Have at least 5 years’ experience as a Solution Architect designing scalable solutions
• Designing, building and integrating information systems to meet the company’s goals
• Assessing all existing and new systems architecture and working with the relevant technical team members to recommend solutions to improve where necessary
• Resolving technical problems as they arise.
• Providing supervision and guidance to development teams.
• Continually researching current and emerging technologies and proposing changes where needed.
• Keeping key stakeholders up-to-date about problems that arise with the current technical solutions being implemented.
• Assessing the business impact to identify & highlight the impact of certain technical choices, and making recommendations.
• Excellent at written and verbal communication and being able to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels

Qualifications and Skills

• Experience developing IT and cloud infrastructure
• Master''s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
• Current understanding of best practices regarding system security measures
• Strong Project management and leadership skills
• Experience in software engineering and design architecture
• Positive outlook in meeting challenges and working to a high level
• Advanced understanding of business analysis techniques and processes
• Professional experience working with and analyzing computer hardware and software
• Extensive knowledge and experience working with operating systems
