CU Solvent Extraction and Electrowinning Specialist for the Mining Industry

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities of a Cu SX-EW Specialist:

Process Optimization:

Analyzing and optimizing the SX-EW process to maximize copper recovery and minimize costs.Â

Plant Design and Commissioning:

Contributing to the design, construction, and commissioning of new SX-EW plants or the expansion of existing ones.Â

Troubleshooting and Problem Solving:

Identifying and resolving operational issues in SX-EW plants, including those related to equipment, reagents, and process parameters.Â

Quality Control:

Ensuring the quality of copper cathodes produced through the electrowinning process.Â

Technical Support:

Providing technical expertise and guidance to plant personnel and management.Â

Research and Development:

Contributing to research and development efforts aimed at improving SX-EW technology.Â

Training and Mentoring:

Training and mentoring other personnel in the operation and maintenance of SX-EW plants.Â

Safety and Environmental Compliance:

Ensuring that the SX-EW process is conducted safely and in compliance with environmental regulations.Â

Key Skills and Knowledge for a Cu SX-EW Specialist:

Hydrometallurgy:Â In-depth knowledge of hydrometallurgical principles and practices, including leaching, solvent extraction, and electrowinning.Â
Solvent Extraction:Â Expertise in solvent extraction chemistry, reagents, and process design.Â
Electrowinning:Â Knowledge of electrowinning principles, equipment, and operating parameters.Â
Process Control:Â Understanding of process control systems and techniques used in SX-EW plants.Â
Analytical Chemistry:Â Ability to interpret analytical data and use it to optimize the SX-EW process.Â
Equipment and Instrumentation:Â Familiarity with the equipment and instrumentation used in SX-EW plants.Â
