Sourcing Manager - Freight and Logistics

SUMMARY:
As a Sourcing Manager in Freight and Logistics, you will be responsible for managing the sourcing and procurement activities related to freight transportation and logistics services for the organization.

POSITION INFO:

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and execute sourcing strategies for freight transportation and logistics services to meet the organization''s requirements.
2. Identify and evaluate potential suppliers and service providers, conducting supplier assessments, negotiations, and contract management.
3. Analyze market trends, pricing, and supplier performance to drive cost savings and continuous improvement initiatives.
4. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including operations, warehousing, and customer service teams, to understand their requirements and align sourcing activities accordingly.
5. Manage supplier relationships and conduct regular performance reviews to ensure service level agreements are met or exceeded.
6. Monitor and manage supplier performance, quality, and delivery timelines to mitigate risks and maintain high service standards.
7. Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and cost reduction in the sourcing and procurement function.
8. Stay updated with industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in freight and logistics to drive innovation and efficiency.
9. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement sustainable sourcing practices and support corporate social responsibility initiatives.
10. Prepare and present reports, performance metrics, and recommendations to senior management.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor''s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. A master''s degree is preferred.
2. Proven experience (10 years) in sourcing and procurement, specifically within the freight and logistics industry.
3. Strong knowledge of freight transportation modes (air, ocean, road, rail) and related logistics services.
4. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement sourcing strategies, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier relationships effectively.
5. Proficiency in data analysis, cost modeling, and market research techniques.
6. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
7. Familiarity with supply chain management systems and procurement tools.
8. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on achieving cost savings and operational efficiencies.
9. Knowledge of industry regulations, compliance, and risk management in the freight and logistics sector.
10. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
