POSITION INFO:

Sous Chef | Umhlanga | Nationwide Catering Brand

We are looking for an experienced SOUS CHEF to join the team of a National Catering brand with a unit based in Umhlanga, KZN

Reporting to: Head Chef, Executive Chef or Catering Manager

Responsible for: the preparation and production of meals in accordance with specifications

As ideal candidate you will have:

• Certificate/Diploma in culinary arts
• 2 Years previous experience from similar role and establishment

Key Performance Areas:

• Maintain hygiene in food preparation, cooking and storage
• Handle and maintain knives
• Prepare and cook protein dishes
• Prepare and cook basic sauces and soups
• Prepare and cook vegetables, fruit and salads
• Prepare and cook starch and pulses
• Prepare and cook basic cold and hot desserts
• Prepare and cook confectionery and bakery
• Prepare and cook basic pastry dishes
• Prepare and cook basic egg dishes
• Prepare and present food for cold presentation
• Provide a buffet service
• Handle and store food
• Maintain a secure working environment
• Maintain a safe working environment
• Maintain health, hygiene and a professional appearance
• Maintain productivity standards
• Mental alertness
• Lead and supervise allocated kitchen staff
• Maintain effective working relationships with other members of staff

Start: ASAP

Salary package: ZAR 20k
