Our client in the fraud prevention industry is looking for a Specialist Data Analyst to join their team, who works fully remote from any location in South Africa. The company is combating fraud across the financial services industry by providing a shared database to member organisations and offering the public a means of protecting themselves against impersonation and identity theft.

Role Purpose

• To analyse data
• Identify changes in activity
• Identify data trends and exceptions
• Convert data to intelligence
• Providing insight to maximise member engagement.
• Identify areas for data quality improvement and product development.
• Provide operational and management reporting.

Key Accountabilities

• Responsibilities
  • Data mining and analysis
  • Data quality and integrity management
  • Statistical data analysis
  • Creation of operational and management reports and dashboards
  • Data visualisation
  • Assist in gathering the relevant supporting data for compilation of new product proposals and business cases
  • Data needs planning and monitoring
  • Assist in projects where data collection, analysis, management and testing will be required
  • Review current data management systems and processes and identify opportunities for optimisation and automation

  • Must have a broad and deep technical knowledge and will consistently apply these in highly technical design and management areas of the role
  • SQL queries and scripting

Qualifications

• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree with at least 4 years working experience preferably in the in the Banking or associated Financial sectors
  • IT specialisation in IT Data/Systems analysis and design or
  • Bachelor’s degree in data analytics/ management or an equivalent qualification or
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with specialisation in IT, or Data Analysis or Systems analysis and design
  • Machine learning knowledge would be beneficial
