Specialist - Microsoft Security & Firewalls (Sophos)

SUMMARY:
We are seeking an experienced Specialist with expertise in Microsoft security solutions and Sophos firewalls to join our client within a dynamic IT team environment. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the security and integrity of our organization''s IT infrastructure.

POSITION INFO:

Responsibilities:

1. Microsoft Security:
• Implement and manage Microsoft security solutions, including but not limited to Microsoft Defender ATP, Azure Security Centre, and Windows Defender Firewall.
• Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify and address vulnerabilities.
2. Sophos Firewall Management:
• Configure, deploy, and manage Sophos firewalls to protect the organization''s network.
• Monitor firewall logs, analyse security incidents, and implement corrective actions.
3. Network Security:
• Work collaboratively with network and system administrators to ensure the overall security of the organization''s network infrastructure.
• Implement and maintain firewall rules and policies to safeguard against emerging threats.
4. Incident Response:
• Develop and execute incident response plans in coordination with the cybersecurity team.
• Investigate and analyse security incidents, providing detailed reports and recommendations for improvement.
5. Documentation and Training:
• Document security configurations, procedures, and incident reports.
• Provide training and awareness programs to staff on security best practices.

Qualifications:

1. Experience:
• Minimum of 8 of experience in a similar role with a focus on Microsoft security and Sophos firewalls.
2. Certifications:
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Security, or Sophos certifications are highly desirable.
3. Technical Skills:
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft security technologies and Sophos firewall configurations.
• Familiarity with networking protocols, TCP/IP, and network security principles.
4. Communication:
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
5. Problem-Solving:
• Proven ability to analyse complex security issues and develop effective solutions.
