We are recruiting on behalf of a client for a Specialist: SAP Basis, a highly technical and strategic role based in Pretoria. This opportunity is ideal for a seasoned professional who thrives in complex SAP environments and has a strong grasp of enterprise platforms, integration, and SAP''s evolving cloud ecosystem.

The successful candidate will play a key role in SAP Basis platform configuration, support, troubleshooting, and upgrades. With technologies ranging from SAP HANA and Sybase to BTP and SuccessFactors, this role is suited to an innovative thinker with future-focused technical insight.

Key Duties:

• Install, configure, and maintain SAP systems across environments (Production, QA, Development)
• Analyse business requirements and support SAP module integration
• Investigate and resolve complex SAP application issues (Severity 2 and 3)
• Collaborate with business and technical teams to design SAP solutions aligned with best practice
• Execute upgrades, patching, and system monitoring to ensure optimal performance
• Provide specialist input for continuous improvement and operational risk optimisation
• Contribute to SAP-related policy development, governance, and change management

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor''s Degree / Advanced Diploma in Information Technology (NQF 7) with 5–7 years'' SAP Basis experience, including 2–3 years at a technical specialist level OR Senior Certificate with relevant certifications and equivalent experience
• SAP Basis certification or formal training
• Deep technical knowledge of SAP system architecture, HANA/Sybase DBs, SSO, Fiori, and cloud technologies (e.g. SAP BTP, ARIBA, SuccessFactors)
• Strong understanding of integration across SAP modules (Finance, HR, Procurement, etc.)
• Solid grasp of ITIL principles and the full SDLC
