Position: Stock Control Co-ordinator (Hotel)
Location: Cape Town
 
Hospitality Hire is recruiting for an experienced Stock Control Co-ordinator to join a busy hotel operation in Cape Town.
This is an excellent opportunity for a methodical, detail-oriented hospitality professional with strong stock control and inventory management experience. You will be responsible for ensuring the accurate receiving, storing, issuing and monitoring of food, beverage and operational stock while supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the hotel's Food & Beverage operations.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar Stock Control or Inventory role within a 4 or 5-star hotel environment
  - Strong knowledge of food, beverages, ingredients and hotel inventory management
  - Knowledge of packaging materials, cleaning products, wine and liquor stock management
  - Experience using ERP or similar inventory management systems
  - Good understanding of food safety, hygiene and storage standards
  - Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills
  - Excellent attention to detail with a methodical approach to work
  - Good financial and stock control acumen
  - Strong communication and interpersonal skills with professional telephone and email etiquette
  - Ability to work under pressure in a busy, team-oriented environment
  - Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage conflict professionally
  - Fluent in English. An additional language will be advantageous
  - Well presented with a professional, positive and confident attitude
  - Physically fit and able to lift items exceeding 40kg, including beer kegs and large stock deliveries
  - Able to move stock cages and manage high-volume deliveries throughout the day
  - Flexible to work shifts, weekends and public holidays as operationally required

POSITION INFO:
What You'll Be Doing Stock Receiving and Inventory Management Receive, inspect and verify all stock deliveries for accuracy and quality - Allocate, label and store stock in designated storage areas - Issue stock to departments in accordance with operational requirements - Ensure stock is rotated correctly and stored according to food safety standards Inventory Control Capture invoices, transfers and stock movements on the ERP or inventory management system - Assist with stock variance investigations and daily spot checks - Perform scheduled 10-day and 20-day stock counts - Support accurate inventory reporting and stock reconciliation Compliance and Quality Assurance Maintain temperature logs for fridges and freezers - Inspect supplier vehicles to ensure delivery temperatures and hygiene standards comply with company requirements - Ensure bulk storage areas remain clean, organised and compliant with food safety regulations Operational Support Complete all stock administration accurately and timeously - Work closely with all hotel departments to ensure uninterrupted operational support - Assist with additional stock control and operational duties as required What We're Looking For We're looking for a reliable and highly organised hospitality professional who takes pride in maintaining accurate stock levels, reducing waste and supporting operational excellence.
