Stock and Merchandise Analyst

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12
• BComm/ NDip (Financial Information Systems, Accounting, Statistics, Economics or related)
• Advanced IT skills
• Eyewear/optical experience

Responsibilities:

Orders:

• Review the store’s sales history
• Benchmark store sales vs. similar stores
• Confirm or adjust safety stock per brand based on sales history
• Review the stores stock on hand via SMART system
• Call the store to gain on the floor insight on stock performance/demand
• Process order based on stock on hand and top-performing stock codes
• Confirm with the store that the order has been placed

Merchandising:

• Review the store merchandising plan
• Call the store and discuss the success/downfall of the current layout
• Update the merchandising plan for the weekly rotation
• Inform store of the new stock layout and request the change to be made

Monthly Responsibilities

Product Set:

• Review the store’s sales history for brands
• Identify the bottom 25% of the stock in sales performance
• Remove the above stock from the product set
• Review similar stores for stock for top-performing stock
• Identify and add new stock to update the product set
• Product set to be 50% larger than total stock holding (Grid plus Safety stock)

Stock Rotation:

• Review store sales performance vs. stock on hand via QlikView and SMART
• Identify poor performing and stock older than 180 days
• Process the request for return to the supplier via SMART
