Store Financial Manager

SUMMARY:
One of our focus clients based in Johannesburg West within the Retail space is currently looking for a Store Financial Manager to join their team

POSITION INFO:

To ensure the efficient running of the Receiving, Risk, Accounts, Front End, Process Control, Stock Control and IT departments to meet audit requirements and ensure optimal customer service

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Expense to budget control
• Debtors as % of turnover RD cheques as % of turnover/trends
• Expense cost center and accounts accuracy and reporting
• Capital expenditure control
• Debtors applications authorising and control
• Incidental Account Control
• Monitor and control Insurance and public liability claims
• Monitor all departmental discounts
• Maintain HO cheque clearance system user limits
• Petty cash authorization within limits of authority
• Authorise own use
• Authorise expense orders within limits of authority
• Checking and authorising of monthly recons
• Business Process
• Checking and authorising of posted consolidated difference reports Daily checking of cash credits as per Back Office report
• Daily checking of force through reports as per Back Office report
• Checking of daily till credits report as per Back Office report
• Checking of daily till audit report as per Back Office report
• Checking and filing of POS price variance reports as per Back Office report
• Daily monitoring of rebates if done as per Back Office report
• Daily checking of admin article sales reports as per Back Office report
• Weekly checking of Front End registers and controls
• Weekly checking of Receiving registers and controls as per Receiving control pack
• Check and monitor monthly departmental audit checklists as per Process Controllers audit schedule
• Monthly audit of active users on SAP and Back office and deleting of inactive users
• Adherence to Health & Safety ACT and company requirement
• Effective member of store exec team
• Serving on committees as per requirements
• Key performance areas Core activities & accountabilities
• Workforce Management
• Ensure that all monthly scheduling are conducted by managers in conjunction with the HR manager
• Ensure that available hours concur with scheduled hours
• Ensure that variances are conducted by all managers
• Ensure that leave numbers and reasons are captured on the variance reports
• Ensure that hours are approved
• Ensure that weekly analysis be conducted in order to establish lost hours
• People Management
• Induction of new employees:
• Ensure Induction is completed within stipulated time frame
• Ensure that all new staff undergo orientation Employment equity targets:
• Ensure achievement of initiatives in support of store equity plan when recruiting for the department
• Performance Management:
• Signed role clarity in place for all employees
• Performance contract in place for all
• Complete regular performance evaluations
• Signed PDD’s in place for all employees
• Maintain appropriate level of discipline
• Take appropriate disciplinary action
• Conduct monthly score card and one on one discussions with all staff
• Manage staff adherence to working schedule
• Complete regular PDR’s to improve staff morale
• Ensure staff is cross –skilled to ensure continuity of all functions
• Energy level improvement
• Manage time keeping and working hours
• Effective planning for weekends and festive season trading
• Manage Team Delivery based on performance plans

Requirements:

• Matriculation
• Degree/Diploma in Finance
• 5 years of experience in Senior Administration Management
