JOB SUMMARY:
Opportunity Available! Our well known client in the Automotive Sector is looking to employ a Stores Superintendent to join their dynamic team in East London.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Functional Definition:

To effectively manage the employees in the dispatch area controlling all deliveries to the customers.

Job Description:

  • To oversee the functions of raw materials receipting, storage and issues to manufacturing in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Responsible for all stores, receiving and preparation functions ensuring ease to flow at all times
  • Initiate, implement and maintain processes as dictated by quality systems and other quality requirements as well as company policy
  • Control of all subordinates
  • Ensure FIFO Processing and full trace ability of raw and prepared materials from receipt to production line acceptance
  • Maintain and improve stock verification practices to ensure minimum variances
  • Ensure accuracy of stock in stores, goods shelved, goods correctly identified and goods correctly dispatched
  • Control of all stock takes and related matters
  • Maintain and improve housekeeping practices of stores & receiving areas
  • Perform liaision between the purchasing and receiving departments as well as suppliers.
  • Assist in training of stores & receiving staff in related matters
  • Maintain mechanisms to ensure minimum obsolescence
  • Maintain and improve the use of statistical process controls with respect to all associated receiving and stores processes and supplier performance
  • Improve and maintain inspection practices
  • To ensure that all HR related policies and procedures are followed, ensuring performance evaluations and training needs analysis are completed timeously
  • Monitor absenteeism
  • To adhere to budgets set & to highlight any means of savings or wastage incurred asap
  • Initiate cycle counts of stock under their control, ensuring stock accuracy
  • To maintain an open flow of communication with management on improvements and/ or problems within the store
  • Warehouse principles implementation
  • Warehouse FIFO and identification and standards implementation
  • Ensure correct processing of incoming stock
  • To ensure all delivery notes are raised and processed correctly on JDE
  • Stock recon in stores and daily reporting
  • Oversea dispatch and receiving clerk

Job Requirements:
  • Matric
  • 5 years experience in a similar role
  • JDE Knowledge
  • Forklift licence
