Support the Group Assurance Executive. The incumbent will be responsible for cross-functional project teams, with the focus being to maintain GAP’s excellence, as well as set the business up for future growth.

Interact with clients and stakeholders at all levels, and will drive the current and future product strategy.

• Develop and maintain GAP’s strategy (including product strategy) across the key segments of the group risk market
• Give input into the broader Corporate Segment strategy
• Develop the business plans required to deliver on the agreed strategy
• Develop and maintain a framework to execute on GAP strategic projects
• Perform market research & competitor analysis to inform strategy
• Lead the development of new products and enhancements to the existing group range
• Managing the relevant cross-functional project teams to deliver on project plans
• Responsibility for GAP’s operating model across the value chain with an ongoing focus on enabling future growth
• Provide technical oversight and support, for group risk products in particular, to marketing, proposition, finance and servicing areas
• Pricing of large and complex group arrangements
• Mentoring & development of junior actuarial students

Qualifications and Experience required:

• Qualified actuary
• 10 years experience, of which at least 6 years is within Group Risk / reinsurance actuarial experience
• Exposure to products or pricing roles would be an advantage
• Experience in managing teams
• Strong business acumen
• Ability to run large projects independently
• The ability to manage several projects and priorities at the same time
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work across teams and collaborate with various stakeholders
• Ability to think different in developing client-centric solutions

The role is suited to candidates with a preference for working reduced hours
