Structural Rebar Detailer/ Draughtsman

SUMMARY:
An opportunity is available for a detail-oriented Rebar Detailer to join a structural engineering environment. The successful candidate will support engineering and design teams by producing accurate reinforced concrete rebar layouts and schedules using specialised scheduling software.

POSITION INFO:

Job Description:

• Prepare detailed rebar layouts and reinforcement schedules
• Develop 2D and 3D reinforcement models using Revit, AutoCAD, and specialised rebar detailing software
• Generate accurate material take-offs and calculate reinforcing steel quantities
• Review and check reinforcement schedules and layouts for accuracy and compliance with relevant standards
• Collaborate closely with structural engineers, designers, and project stakeholders
• Manage multiple project deliverables while ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met
• Maintain compliance with applicable quality management systems and project procedures

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in rebar detailing or structural draughting
• Proven experience using Probar and Padds scheduling software
• Strong working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD
• Familiarity with SANS 282 rebar scheduling requirements
• Understanding of ISO 9001 quality management principles
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational and time management skills
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
• Comfortable working under pressure in deadline-driven environments
• Proficiency in MS Office applications

• Grade 12 / Matric (essential)
• Relevant draughting or structural detailing training or certification advantageous
• Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle beneficial
