SUMMARY:
Our client based in the Southern Kalahari is seeking the expertise of a Supervisor Refurbishment and Quality control

POSITION INFO:

Our client''s Mine is one of the major Iron Ore producers in South Africa with a well-established overseas market.  The Mine is situated in the Southern Kalahari.   

SUPERVISOR REFURBISHMENT & QUALITY CONTROL

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Trade Test (MQA Preferred) (Essential)
  • A minimum of N4 Engineering studies certificate(Essential)
  • Planned Maintenance certificate (NQF Level 5) (Essential)
  • Supervisory / Management / ARM equivalent certificate (NQF Level 4 – 150 credits)
  • Quality Control certificate (NQF Level 5) (Essential)

 

Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years Supervisory / Team experience in Mining or Heavy Industry maintenance environment in Plant and Fleet (Essential)
  • Minimum of five (5) years operational experience in Mining or Heavy Industry maintenance environment in Plant and Fleet as a qualified Artisan (Essential)

(Total of 8 years’ experience required, of which some can run concurrent)

 

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies

  • Functional Knowledge:
    • Process and Maintenance theory related to:
      • Crushing, screening, conveying, stacking and reclaiming, gravity separation (Jigging), De-slimes and de-grid cyclones, water recovery (thickeners), tailings disposal, sampling, dust suppression and extraction, power reticulation, control systems, TMMs, Drill Rigs, Excavators, Loading & Hauling equipment, Grading machines.
  • Functional Skills and equipment knowledge:
    • Process flow and equipment knowledge of the following production processes:
      • Crushing, conveyor & ROM stacking, On-grade wash & screening, Off-grade wash & screening, beneficiation, high pressure roller crusher, product conveying & stacking, process water & slimes handling, product reclaiming and loading, TMM’s, Drill Rigs, Excavators, Loading & Hauling equipment, Grading machines, automated process control philosophy, Asset management, EAMS strategy, EAMS business processes, condition monitoring, relevant original Equipment Manufacturer training, process Control and optimization.

Other Requirements

  • A Valid Code EB (08) driver’s licence
  • Medically fit for duty

Appointment:  Remuneration will be based on a competitive all-inclusive flexible package.

 

Housing:        The Company encourages private home ownership, but the allocation thereof is subject to the rules of the Housing Policy.

 

The successful incumbent will be appointed subject to being certified medically fit as per the Mine Health and Safety Act 29/1996 and meeting the requirements of the Company’s Code of Practice – Minimum standards of fitness to perform work at a Mine. He/she may also undergo a psychometric assessment.

 

The abovementioned position is C-upper on the Patterson band grading system. The successful candidate that conforms to all said requirements and experience will be appointed on this grading. Should the successful candidate not conform with all said requirements and experience, but are nonetheless regarded as suitable for appointment to the position, he/she will be appointed on a lower more appropriate grading, until successful achievement of required competencies and skills.
