SUMMARY:

An exciting opportunity to join our client in the Automotive Manufacturing Industry as a Supplier Quality Assurance Officer. A valid Matric certificate along with IATF 16949, Core Tools training and 2nd Party Auditing is essential and technical qualifications are an advantage. Candidates with a min. of 5 years’ experience in leading, developing, implementing and maintaining quality in an Automotive Manufacturing Environment will be considered for the position.

Integrated Management Systems:
  •  Planning for implementation of the integrated management system requirements in areas of his / her responsibility.
  • Developing, reviewing and implementing receiving Control Plans, Inspection Instruction, Visuals / Guides / Acceptance Criteria and forms compliant to the customer and relevant IATF 16949, ISO 14001 and legal requirements (taking into consideration Special Characteristics as designated by customers)
  • Retaining sub-supplier receiving and other process documented information on the intranet and designated storage areas.
  • Implementing document and records control process requirements for receiving.
  • Assist with preparation for external certification audits and customer audits to demonstrate compliance to requirements.
  • Developing training modules and providing training to staff on quality-related topics.
  • Determining and cascading requirements to sub-suppliers for new/changed products and processes.
  • Conduct Planning for part approvals as per documented processes.
  • Plan for supplier performance/systems evaluations and establishment of supplier development plans.

Analysis and Reporting of Quality Performance.
  •  Establish Supplier Quality Objectives and developing/implement monitoring processes to ensure supplier performance is monitored and requirements met
  • Capture daily receiving quality performance and report at periodic meetings / communication boards (War room meetings)
  • Validating data integrity of results captured at receiving and supplied by sub-suppliers (COCs / Material Certificates)
  • Analysis supplier quality performance using suitable statistical and analytical tools and techniques.
  • Conduct and Analyse Supplier Risk Assessment data to determine the monitoring required.
  • Analyse customer complaints data and communicate with Quality Engineer for Corrective/preventive actions required.  
  • Update Registers and track actions to close issues.
  • Compile quality performance reports / KPI reports / QOS as per Procedure.

 Planning for and ensuring Quality:
 
  • Participating with development of new / changed product Quality Plans in conjunction with the cross-functional team to determine / cascade sub-supplier requirements.
  • Developing / Revising and implementing Receiving Inspection Control Plans and instructions to ensure the quality of incoming products. Has the authority to reject received / services products/services if noncompliance detected and return products to suppliers.
  • Ensuring received product validation as per the Receiving Quality plan and customer requirements.
  • Ensuring Externally provided products/services are approved prior to volume production as per OEM / P&A / Inter-Company process requirements (e.g. PPAP) and Approval
  • Packages (Documents) retained.
  • Assist with selection and approval of Sub Suppliers.
  • Conduct Supplier 2nd party audits as per plan.
  • Develop Suppliers as per development plan.
  • Auditing Internal Business Processes on time as defined in the Horizon Global Audit Process and Audit Plan. Ensure gaps are recorded, corrective action established, progress to close gaps tracked and results reported to Management.
  • Assist with preparation of Management Reviews as required.
  • Receiving Inspection self-inspections at periodic intervals to ensure compliance to the documented process.
  • Ensuring measurement equipment used by the receiving inspector are calibrated and in good condition.
  • Ensuring compliance to MSA (measurement systems analysis) requirements relevant to receiving inspection.
  • Ensuring corrective / preventive action on supplier quality issues are taken as per documented processes / procedures (fast response problem solving / 8D). Track supplier feedback and ensure actions taken are appropriate to the nature of the gaps identified.
  • Manage customer complaints / corrective action registers. Track actions and ensure effective closeout. Escalate overdue actions and report results to Management monthly or when overdue actions detected.
  • Ensure compliance to customer-specific requirements (P&A / OEMs)
  • Ensuring Planned Supplier 2nd party Audits and self-assessments are conducted as per plan, results reported and used as input into the Supplier Development Plan 


Continual Improvement:
  • Identifying and initiating Quality improvement opportunities.
  • Implementing best practice and lessons learned across Horizon Global processes and projects.
  • Leading role of problem-solving of customer concerns and plant quality issues
  • Monitoring implementation and effectiveness of Corrective and Preventive Actions where necessary.
  • Participating actively in Lean & continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Reducing warranty and customer returns.

Resource Management:
  • Leading the shop floor quality team.
  • Creating a culture supporting achievement, success and delivery by ensuring that subordinates are qualified, motivated, empowered, trained and competent.
  • Monitoring employee-specific objectives in line with objectives set.
  • Developing resources and retaining the relevant skills and expertise.
  • Monitoring and ensuring adherence to Horizon Global Human Resources and related policies and procedures.
  • Monitoring and ensuring adherence to Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental requirements.
