JOB SUMMARY:
Southern Oil Pty Ltd, an established company and market leader in the manufacturing of Canola oil and related products in the retail, food services, and bulk sectors, has the following exciting career opportunity in Swellendam.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Short Summary:

The primary responsibility of this position is to assist the Logistics Coordinators with administrative tasks and to learn and assist the Logistics Department in the Packed Product Division.

Responsibilities:

  • Business Transport PO and SO
    • Loading of transport purchase orders for all deliveries made.
    • Load transport sales orders for third party loads.
  • Handle Returns and Rejections
    • Handling rejections of all clients.
    • Escalate complaints from customers to the necessary parties.
    • Fill in rejections on file and as required.
  • Regulate CHEP Pallets
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with relevant internal stakeholders and trading partners.
    • Coordinate and control equipment movements across entry and exit points.
    • Manage daily compliance checking and action on any correction or reversal activity.
    • Coordinate weekly and monthly stock takes and reconcile the process.
    • Investigate and manage any CHEP equipment variances.
    • Escalate any issues promptly for resolution.
    • Ensure reusable CHEP equipment transfers and recoveries are managed.
    • Ensure and manage the exchange of pallets within 30 days.
    • Follow up on outstanding CHEP pallets daily and coordinate exiting CHEP pallets.
  • Backup Function
    • Act as a direct backup for the Logistic Administrator and the assistance for the Drivers.
  • Internal Client and Customer Services
    • Report all incidents to relevant departments and file a report on incidents.
  • General Administration
    • Assist Supervisor and Coordinators with general administration tasks.
Key Competencies:

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of Grade 12 or NQF Level 4
  • Computer literacy, especially Microsoft Office Excel
  • 2-years relevant experience in Administration and Logistics
