Our client has operated in the agricultural industry for over a 100 years and well is an established player in the key regions of the Western, Eastern and Northern Cape, as well as the Limpopo Province. Whilst their administrative offices are based in Caledon, they currently operate 19 retail stores, 15 grain depots and 5 convenience stores at central locations across these regions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the Building Materials category as a business unit and customise it store by store to satisfy customers' needs.
• Analysing and execution of central buying functions.
• Identify suppliers, and compile category ranges with profitability management as the focus.
• Negotiating on price, rebates, payment terms, logistics and quality of products within this category.
• Responsible for stock management aspects within the category that include the evaluation of the current ranges, gap analysis to determine shortcomings and opportunities, implementing improvements and management of obsolete and aged stock.
• Planning promotions and identifying marketing opportunities in collaboration with the Retail branches.
• Creating and maintaining positive relationships with suppliers and expanding existing network and,
• Assist with all facets of budgeting related to this main category.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management or the equivalent.
• At least 5 to 10 years of experience in Category Management specifically in building materials.
• Well established network as a specialist with strong communication and negotiation abilities.
• Strong analytical, accurate, organizing and planning skills with an emphasis on detail.
• Energetic with a passion for building industry relationships.
• Must be able to work independently with limited supervision but also as part of a team and
• Valid driver’s license and access to own reliable transport.

Salary depending on industry specific experience.
