System Analyst

Purpose of the Position

Develop, implement and maintain a governance framework for technology and product development in the company. Perform quarterly technology audits of key products and platform / framework components and facilitate annual external audits for these products and platform / framework components. Contribute towards they company’s overall technology strategy. Write technical documentation for platform / framework components and services

Responsibilities and Duties

Technology Governance

• Develop and maintain a governance framework for the company’s technology products and processes.
• Develop documentation standards for the company’s technology products.
• Perform quarterly audits for key products against the governance framework.
• Perform quarterly audits of all product teams against the governance framework.
• Facilitate annual external audits for key products and platform / framework components.
• Review architectural design for key products on a regular basis.
• Review code (periodically) for key products.

Documentation

• Assist the Helium platform development team with documentation of platform / framework components and services.

Risk management

• Identify technical risks and implement controls.
• Review and record risks and controls on a regular basis.

Technology strategy

• Submit a quarterly report of audit findings and recommendations to the CTO.
• Contribute towards the company’s technology strategy.

Information security

• Adhere to the Information Security Management System policies and procedures as per ISO 27001 and the company’s Information
• Security Management System (ISMS)

Person Specifications

Key competencies/skills/attributes required

• Proficient in writing software code.
• Proficient with relational databases, including database design, writing
• complex aggregation queries, writing SQL functions, partitioning, etc.
• Proficient knowledge of scrum and Kanban.
• Analytical thinking.
• Highly developed technical problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Goal oriented attitude.
• Strong finishing energy.
• Strong interpersonal skills

Minimum educational qualifications required

• None, but tertiary qualifications in information technology will count in an applicant’s favor.

Minimum experience required

• 7+ years overall experience in information technology.
• 5+ years’ experience in full stack development, ideally including Java development.
• 5+ years’ experience working with SQL databases, ideally PostgreSQL.
