SUMMARY:
Our client is looking for an IT System Administrator in Rivonia to join their team

POSITION INFO:
Roles and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Infrastructure & System Management:
Administer and maintain Windows Server and Linux environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and system configurations.
Perform server and workstation maintenance, OS updates, patches, and software installations.
Manage virtualized environments (VMware, Hyper-V) and ensure system scalability and stability.
Oversee network connectivity, firewalls, and VPN configurations for secure remote access.
Implement monitoring and alerting solutions to track system performance and detect anomalies.
Deploy and manage cloud-based infrastructure to support system reliability and scalability.

User & Security Management:
Manage user accounts, access controls, and system permissions through Active Directory and role-based access control (RBAC).
Implement endpoint security solutions, firewalls, and antivirus software to protect IT assets.
Ensure compliance with cybersecurity policies and assist in IT audits and vulnerability assessments.

Cloud Backup & Disaster Recovery:
Implement and manage cloud-based backup solutions (e.g., Azure Backup, AWS Backup, Veeam Cloud Connect, Google Cloud Storage) to prevent data loss.
Ensure disaster recovery planning and business continuity strategies are in place.
Monitor and test backup and recovery procedures to guarantee data integrity and restore capabilities.

Technical Support & Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues to minimize downtime.
Maintain system documentation, asset inventory, and change management records.
Provide technical support for on-site teams and collaborate with remote IT support and engineers.

Required Technical Skills:
Operating Systems: Advanced knowledge of Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat).
Networking: Familiarity with TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, and network troubleshooting tools (Wireshark, Nmap).
Cloud Technologies: Experience with Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud for backup, disaster recovery, and virtual machine hosting.
Virtualization: Experience with VMware ESXi, Hyper-V, or Proxmox.
System Monitoring & Security: Proficiency with SIEM tools, endpoint security, and intrusion detection systems.
Automation & Scripting: Ability to create and troubleshoot PowerShell, Bash, or Python scripts for automation tasks.
Backup & Disaster Recovery: Experience with cloud-based and on-premise backup solutions such as Veeam, Acronis, or Windows Backup.
Hardware Support: Ability to troubleshoot desktops, servers, and network devices.
