Systems Analyst

POSITION INFO:

Our Client a Global Tech firm is seeking a Systems Analyst to join their team in Cape town on a 12 month contract. They offer stability, competitive rates, growth and an excellent working environment.

As a Systems Analyst, you''ll be responsible for the day-to-day running of all systems in our offices. You will ensure that they are operating smoothly and efficiently. You''ll also be responsible for ensuring that the software development life cycle is being followed, with regular checks to make sure everything is up to date and functioning as it should. In this role, you will have an intimate knowledge of all aspects of IT infrastructure - from servers to network devices. You''ll also understand how business processes work on a daily basis so that your technical solutions align with them effectively.

Requirements

• Developing functional and technical specifications to meet the business needs of clients;
• Conducting system analyses for new and existing systems; Constructing programs, including coding, testing, and debugging;
• Conducting engagements with key role-players within the various departments to further understand their business processes, needs, and challenges;
• Conducting feasibility studies;
• Preparing business cases and conducting an initial risk assessment; Conducting solution assessments and validation;
• Conducting presentations of the deliverables for playback to the relevant departmental unit; and
• Conducting playback sessions with the relevant departmental unit to ensure that the information extracted from the business documents and through the interview process are correct.
• Ability to collaborate and work as a part of a team;

• Have a pragmatic approach to business transformation;
• Strong presentation skills at board level or executive management level;
• Relevant business development experience and skills; and
• Experience and capability of leading IT technologies.

Qualifications

• One or more tertiary qualification(s) issued by a registered tertiary institution that is/are relevant to the role of the Systems Analyst (as defined in section 3.2 above); OR
• One or more industry accredited course credential(s) that is/are relevant to the role of the Systems Analyst (as defined in section 3.2 above) (including, for example, industry accredited course credentials in programming); AND A minimum of 3 (three) years experience in a Systems Analyst (as defined in section 3.2 above) or equivalent role working or consulting on tasks or projects involving the following:
• Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC); and
• Systems analyses and documentation.
