Systems Integration Engineer - Underground Vehicles

SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Systems Integration Engineer to join our underground vehicle engineering team.

POSITION INFO:
In this role, you will be responsible for the design, integration, testing, and validation of electrical and control systems used in advanced underground and mining vehicles.

You’ll work closely with multi-disciplinary teams—covering electrical, mechanical, software, and control engineering—to ensure that all subsystems operate seamlessly and meet performance, safety, and reliability standards in demanding underground environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the integration of electrical, electronic, and control systems across vehicle platforms.
• Develop and maintain system architecture, interface control documents, and integration plans.
• Support the design and testing of CAN bus networks, PLC systems, sensors, and vehicle control units (VCUs).
• Conduct system-level testing, fault diagnostics, and performance validation.
• Collaborate with software and hardware teams to resolve technical issues and optimize system performance.
• Ensure that all systems comply with industry safety standards, EMC/EMI requirements, and functional safety protocols (ISO 13849 / ISO 26262).
• Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and technical documentation.
• Provide on-site support during vehicle commissioning, trials, and maintenance activities when required.

• Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Electrical, Mechatronic, Control Systems, or Automotive Engineering (or equivalent).
• Proven experience in systems integration for heavy, mobile, or underground equipment.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle electrical systems, control architecture, CAN communication (J1939), and diagnostics tools.
• Familiarity with PLC programming, embedded controllers, and instrumentation systems.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• Ability to work in harsh industrial or underground environments when needed.
