SUMMARY

The integrative, continual improvement platform transforming global blue-chip multinationals into high performing organisaitons for the past 33 years.

This role is responsible for leading the team that develops and delivers on the technical roadmap for the core platform to company’s global customers. This includes all roles (traditional and agile) and responsibilities associated with the SDLC, including technical architecture (JAVA), quality, testing and deployment.

You’ll have the opportunity to work with diverse, smart, talented and hardworking people in a learning-orientated environment working with an architecture stack grounded in AWS, using Java, Angular, Python, Terraform, Lambdas, Kubernetes, S3, DynamoDB, RDS and more.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• To lead the development team in terms of technical architecture, quality, testing, deployment and set the teams vision (about 50% of the role)
  • To manage the personal development of team members (e.g. Talent Reviews, training)
  • To lead and reinforce efficient and collaborative decision making though defined agile structures, processes, and ceremonies.
  • To ensure that team goals, budgets and KPIs are achieved
  • To ensure that proper updated documentation is maintained
  • To engage with IT to promote sound deployment and security
  • To manage and promote collaboration with external service providers
  • Manage the team’s budget
  • To undertake development as required (about 20% of the role)
  • To stay abreast of software development trends and architecture patterns and best practices and apply innovative recommendations (about 30% of the role

QUALIFICATIONS

Education level

• Tertiary degree/diploma in Technology or related
• Modern, relevant technology certifications advantageous

Experience (guidelines)

• 10 years in JAVA development
• 5 years’ experience in technical solution architecture
• 5 years’ experience with microservices and cloud technologies (AWS preferable)
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Team Lead
• Deep knowledge of agile and scrum teams and processes
