Job Description

Our Cape Town based client has an opportunity for a mature candidate to hold the position of the Operations Manager

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

• Planning and forecasting of production against order requirements, ensuring product is produced timeously for daily dispatch against order fill targets
• Raw material and Packaging management and planning
• Liaise with respective clients on their order status, collections, queries etc.
• Management of staff complement of approximately 50-100 people inclusive of all factory staff, supervisors, maintenance technicians, buyer and administrators.
• Managing the maintenance schedule for the plant inclusive of technicians and contractors
• Manage and lead the Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) team and all the system requirements within it.
• Work as part of the Food Safety Management (FSM) team.
• Needs to work closely with the technical team to maintain all system requirements.
• Understand the operational requirements of systems such as HACCP, FSSC and/or ISO.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Matriculation)
• A formal degree/diploma or equivalent in production management or a qualification in food technology with a focus on production management

Skills

• Minimum of 10 years work experience in a production management role
• Experience in a food preparation environment with low and high care regimes would be preferred
