Job Description
Our Client who is based in the West Rand has an opportunity for the Engineering Buyer, the successful applicant will be responsible for the following:
- Procurement Planning
- Seek cost saving opportunities by optimizing our total cost of ownership.
- Contribute to budgeting process and provide input on forecasted prices and cost drivers, taking into account risks in the local and global markets/industries.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, and indicators.
- Read, understand and implement, all policies and procedures, and provide input for review where necessary.
- Vendor Selection: Conduct an official Request for Quotation (RFQ) and select the vendor, in collaboration with relevant department.
- Comply to all standards of performance, including but not limited to : Turnaround timelines to source, obtaining quotes, and creating purchase orders.
- Reporting on all procurement activities, in line with various stakeholder requirements.
Qualifications
- Matriculation
- Diploma in Supply Chain and Logistics Management
Skills
- 5 year purchasing experience, 3 of which in sourcing and procuring maintenance and engineering related equipment/parts/goods and services
- Hands on experience with purchasing software SAP. Experience on ARIBA is advantageous.
