SUMMARY:
We are looking for a skilled Tax Accounting Manager to oversee tax compliance, reporting, and strategic tax planning for our consumer goods business. This role involves ensuring full compliance with tax regulations, implementing strategies to maximize tax efficiency, and proactively identifying and managing risks. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical abilities, up-to-date tax expertise, and experience working in a fast-paced, consumer-driven sector

POSITION INFO:

Ensure compliance with tax laws, including Income Tax, VAT, and Withholding Taxes across all entities
Prepare, review, and submit direct and indirect tax filings, including VAT and Withholding Tax, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulations
Compile and assess Corporate Income Tax (CIT) calculations, ensuring compliance for group entities
Perform deferred tax computations using the balance sheet approach to maintain accurate financial reporting
Oversee the preparation and submission of provisional tax returns, ensuring timely and correct filings
Monitor and analyse tax calculations while tracking general ledger (GL) account movements to provide insights and strategic recommendations
Reconcile tax records with internal financial accounts, ensuring alignment across all tax categories and entities.
Verify the accuracy, legitimacy, and completeness of tax payments made to regulatory authorities.
Prepare tax-related disclosures for financial statements and accounting reports, maintaining transparency in reporting.
Assist in tax audits and inquiries by gathering and organizing required documentation for tax authorities.

Skills & Experience:
A minimum of five years of experience in a similar tax accounting or tax management role
Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and the ability to assess their implications on tax computations and reporting
Experience in international tax compliance
Exposure to transfer pricing regulations, including experience with preparing and managing Master and Local Files, is beneficial
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word, with the ability to analyse data, prepare reports, and manage tax-related documentation efficiently

Qualification:
Registered CA(SA)
A Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree in Accounting or Taxation
A Postgraduate qualification in Income Tax or Value-Added Tax (VAT) at NQF Level 8
Advantageous: A Master’s degree in Taxation
