Tax Compliance Officer

SUMMARY:

We are seeking a Tax Compliance Officer for a permanent vacancy based in Durbanville, Western Cape

POSITION INFO:

Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:

• Matric with relevant Finance qualification
• 3+ years’ experience in an audit / accounting firm handling SARS & tax compliance
• Must have good working knowledge in terms of WCA returns, tax assessments and estate taxation
• Good computer literacy – accounting / tax packages preferred
• Driver’s license required

The successful applicant would be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Complete tax administration function and maintenance of Greatsoft database
• Preparation and submission (or reviewing) of SARS Income tax returns
• Calculation, preparation and submissions (or reviewing) of provisional tax returns including correspondence with clients
• Calculation, preparation, submissions (or review) of VAT/PAYE/Dividends tax or any other applicable taxes
• Reviewing and assessing SARS tax assessments and correspondence with clients
• Arrangement of payments via efiling and administration;
• Preparation and submission of objections, notice of appeal, ADR and /or any other dispute resolution
• Taxation of estates
• Preparation, submission (or review) of WCA returns
• Dealing with SARS queries and correspondence, in all respects as well
• Managing client portfolio and client correspondence
• Registrations of all tax types and related government levies.
• Development and improvement of tax administration department
• Training of other firm staff with regards to tax and tax administration
• General office and related administration
• Any other reasonable request from management
• Adherence to SARS deadlines
• Communication with management and staff on all tax related matters

Salary:  Negotiable based on experience and knowledge
