SUMMARY:
My Client in the Audit and Accounting sector is currently seeking a Tax Director to perform the compliance responsibilities of the Tax Department. The incumbent must have 8+ years’ experience in a specialist Tax role. Please see the performance area criteria below for a more detailed description of the required responsibilities.
POSITION INFO:
Minimum Requirements:
- BCom/ H Dip Tax
- 8 - 10 years+ Specialist Tax experience
- Microsoft Office; Finsolve Tax Planner; Accfin; Electronic Tax Library - Butterworths
- Relevant Legislation experience
- Ability to deal with SARS at a senior level
- Management experience
- High degree of numeracy and literacy skills
- Legal interpretation skills
Performance Areas (Responsibilities):
Consulting:
- Assisting clients, partners, and staff with tax related issues
- Dealing with complex tax queries from SARS
- Liaising with senior SARS officials
- Dispute resolution process with SARS (Objection/Appeal process)
- Assist with national Tax booklet
- Attend national Tax Partners meetings
- Brief attorneys/advocates when tax dispute reaches court level
- Keep up to date with Tax knowledge
Administration/Compliance:
- Overall responsibility for Tax compliance dept
- Staff Recruitment, Retention, Training and Development
- Commissioner of Oaths
