Technical Broker: Special Risk (Marine)

SUMMARY:
Our client in the Insurance Industry has an opportunity available for a Technical Broker - Marine in the Pretoria area.

POSITION INFO:

Requirements:

• Matric
• Level 4 FETC Short-term Insurance Qualification
• Higher Certificate in Insurance
• Post matric qualification is an advantage (BComm            Risk/Accounting, BBA)
• RE qualification
• Minimum 7 years short term insurance with 5 of the 7 years in a commercial account servicing service, Marine Broking, claims and underwriting capacity
• Computer Literacy
• Knowledge of:
• Insurance knowledge to at least an intermediate level
• Ability to negotiate and place a medium  to large commercial account
• Legal requirements of the insurance industry
• Claims knowledge

KPAs:

• Set up and create broking information in accordance with the Company''s Minimum Standards for Commercial Business
• Obtain quotes and negotiate with selected markets
• Send closing instruction to insurer to provide cover for client
• Load policy information onto the system and create client file
• Update register in terms of new business received
• Ensure data integrity on all systems
• Attend to general correspondence and e-mails to clients according to company standards
• Analyze quotes received and make recommendations to clients
• Ensure that customer queries are attended to and resolved expeditiously
