SUMMARY:
Our client in the Insurance Industry has an opportunity available for a Technical Broker - Marine in the Pretoria area.

POSITION INFO:

Requirements:

Matric
Level 4 FETC Short-term Insurance Qualification
Higher Certificate in Insurance
Post matric qualification is an advantage (BComm Risk/Accounting, BBA)
RE qualification
Minimum 7 years short term insurance with 5 of the 7 years in a commercial account servicing service, Marine Broking, claims and underwriting capacity
Computer Literacy
Knowledge of:

Insurance knowledge to at least an intermediate level
Ability to negotiate and place a medium to large commercial account
Legal requirements of the insurance industry
Claims knowledge

KPAs:

Set up and create broking information in accordance with the Company''s Minimum Standards for Commercial Business
Obtain quotes and negotiate with selected markets
Send closing instruction to insurer to provide cover for client
Load policy information onto the system and create client file
Update register in terms of new business received
Ensure data integrity on all systems
Attend to general correspondence and e-mails to clients according to company standards
Analyze quotes received and make recommendations to clients
Ensure that customer queries are attended to and resolved expeditiously
