POSITION INFO:
The Business Data Analyst will be responsible for establishing a structured and rigorous approach to data collection, documentation and logical modelling within the Operational Data Platform (ODP). The focus will be on capturing and validating data sources, defining logical data structures, and ensuring the successful integration specification of data sources into the ODP frameworks, with a specific focus on Value Chain Management (VCM) integration and aligning different data consumers. The ODP and Business Intelligences applications implementations, require a more logical level analysis of new and existing sources, confirmation of source types, identification of data gaps, and validating compatibility with ingestion tools, external data providers related data sources to facilitate smooth integration across all required platforms.Key Responsibilities: Data Collection and logical data modeling: • Define logical data models to standardize how data is structured and represented. • Conduct a thorough inventory of all data sources, categorizing them as current, new, or different versions of existing sources. • Document data relationships, dependencies, and data flows between systems. • Ensure data consistency and alignment with ODP and VCM integration requirements Integration and ingestion strategy: • Define alternatives ingestion strategies for incompatible sources. • Work closely with the data architect to consolidate and streamline ingestion methodologies. Data governance and documentation: • Define and keep the level of rigour required for data validation, anomaly detection and reporting accuracy. • Ensure compliance, security and auditability with governance policies and best practices. • Develop data dictionaries and metadata documentation to enhance usability. Data validations and quality: • Guarantee accuracy, completeness and consistency across Operational Data Store (ODS)/Operational Data Warehouse (ODW). • Apply data quality rules and perform reconciliation. Technical Skills: • SQL and querying • Data integration and ingestion, knowledge of ETL processes, data pipelines • Ingestion tools like Qlik Replicate, Azure Data Factory • Databricks • BI Application expertise with Power BI (DAX) or other visualization tools • Cloud Data Platforms, experience working with Azure for data storage and processing • Agile methodologies tools like Azure DevOps or Jira. Qualifications and key competencies: • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Data Science, Information Systems or related field. • 3+ years of experience in data analysis, data processing, data modelling or business intelligence projects. • Strong knowledge of logical data modelling, data ingestion, transformation and integration processes. • Desirable experience with data ingestions tools
