POSITION INFO:

Our Client a Global Tech firm is seeking a Technical Engineer Siemans (Unify) to join their team in Cape town on a 12 month contract. They offer stability, competitive rates, growth and an excellent working environment.

Requirements

The role of the Certified Technical Engineer Siemans (Unify) encompasses the following activities:

• Monthly backup of all PaBX nodes on the Clients 483 network and the OpenScape Manager;
• Quarterly testing of Uninterrupted power supplies (UPS) connected to PaBX nodes;
• Weekly health checks to be performed on all nodes;
• Error checking and status reports;
• Monthly capacity reports for the various nodes;
• Physical inspection, monthly, of nodes, operating environment, status indicators and cabling issues with a follow-up report and photographs;
• Operational support relating to problem responses;
• Advanced troubleshooting;
• Auditing of user activity to ensure integrity and performance of the relevant databases;
• Incident and resolution management;
• Development and scripting;
• Integration of any hardware/software configuration or telephone system to allow for maximum flexibility, eg. Instruments, switches, wireless environment and backend support;
• End-to-end testing to ensure optimal performance;
• Health checks and verification reports; and
• Management of the telephone management system including the billing and reporting

Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Matric) Certificate or evidence of minimum NQF Level 4
• OEM Technical Engineer Certified by Unify with Certified Implementation & Support Specialist OpenScape 4000
• Minimum of 5 years’ collective, relevant working experience in the same or similar role
• Evidence of service rendered in an organisation of 500+ users (evidence of at least one organisation to be reflected in CV)
