SUMMARY:
Selling of technical products (Hardfacing Wearplate and Fluxcore Wires etc.) into Mines, Cement Industries, Oil & Gas, Sugar Industries and Waste Handling Industries

POSITION INFO:

An international client is looking for 3 x Technical Sales Representatives (Hardfacing Wearplate and Hardfacing Flux Core Wires)

Gauteng, Northern Cape, Northwest

Package: Basic, company vehicle, company credit card, petrol card, laptop, pension, cell phone, commission

Candidates must have experience selling technical products into the following industries - Mines, Cement Industries, Oil & Gas, Sugar Industries and Waste Handling

 

Principle Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

 

1.1.         SALES OF PRODUCT

a)            Build customer relationships

b)            Negotiate and close contracts with customers

c)            Support in optimizing prices and maximizing margins.

d)            Communicate to and via Internal Sales.

e)            Take responsibility of allocated market segments and areas

f)             Supply sales forecasting per area and market segments.

g)            Gain new business through distributors or directly

h)            Obtain Vendor Numbers and ensure that our products and services are linked to the vendor number

i)             Fully capable of doing own quotations, based on pricing structure.

          

1.2.         MARKETING OF PRODUCTS

a)            Plan visits on a weekly basis and report back.

b)            Visit customers / potential customers and do high level product related presentations.

c)            Hand out and motivate products using company brochures and technical knowledge.

d)            Motivate end-users to ensure that products are specified in customer’s designs and drawings.

e)            Establish and maintain a detailed end-user customer data base

f)             Do research into potential new areas where potential customers can be obtained.

g)            Market products through the appointed distributors

 

1.3.         TECHNICAL BACK-UP AND TROUBLE SHOOTING

a)            Supply technical information on the various products to customers / potential customers.

b)            Visit customers who experience problems with technical / quality issues and resolve problems.

c)            Coordinate and drive tests and applications at sites.

d)            Arrange and perform wear audits

e)            Supply technical information on the various products & welding equipment to customers / potential customers.

               

1.4.         MAINTAINING CUSTOMER RELATIONS

a)            Contact and visit customers on a regular basis to ensure good customer relations.

b)            Ensure that all customer quality requirements are met via a system.

c)            Assist in managing credit limits and debtor performance

d)            Handle customer complaints.

e)            Perform Customer Surveys at least twice per year.

 

1.5.         EXPLORING NEW MARKETS (PROSPECTING)

a)            See point 2 above.

b)            Do market research - using various mediums to establish new potential customers / applications / projects.

c)            Target and explore specific types of organizations in engineering, repair & maintenance and O.E.M fields to market and promote all the business’s products.

 

GENERAL

a)            Obtain information on competitors’ products and pricing structures and activities from both commercial and technical aspects.

b)            Forecast and establish sales targets and budgets.

c)            Actively support to the Quality system

d)            Travel arrangements.

e)            Oversee expense reconciliations

f)             Credit card and Auto card reconciliation and summery reports.

g)            Manage and assist with quotations to customers

h)            Update comments on quote register for the relevant sales are

i)             Communicate with Technical team to address market needs and new innovations

j)             Drive sales target for the responsible area.

k)            Ensure that customers pay accounts on time.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experiences Required:      

•             Matric with Maths & Science

•             Three to five years in a sales representative role; within industry preferred.

•             A full and clean driving license will be required.

•             Strong interpersonal skills.

•             Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

•             Familiarity with data analysis and reporting.

•             Hardworking, persistent, and dependable.

•             Positive and enthusiastic.
