JOB DESCRIPTION:

Overview

The Technical Sales and Exports Manager plans, directs, and coordinates the actual distribution or movement of a water and effluent treatment products and services to the customer in the Export and Mining sector. Coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, goals and establish training programs for the team. Technical Sales Manager participates in Exports sales, business development and supports the general manager on principal management. The Technical Sales Manager further analyzes market insights gathered by staff to determine sales potential and inventory requirements and monitor the preferences of customers. This role is responsible for the sales of the SBS and fiscal metrics thereof in the export and mining sector.

Qualifications

  • University Degree (Water treatment or related qualification), a commercial qualification will be an added advantage.

Experience

  • Water treatment chemicals/products/solutions sales or technical services (10 to 15 years of experience).
  • Managerial experience of planning, managing and organizing resources within short / medium timescales within the overall policy framework. (Over 6 years to 10 years).

Duties

  • People management.
  • Leveraging technical expertise to guide the technical team to service the customers.
  • Ensure that the subordinates understand their targets and the strategy and how they are aligned to that of the organisation.
  • Direct and coordinate sales activities in the international market.
  • Oversee International and Mining/speciality sales of water care solutions and products.
  • Prepare and submit detailed forecast monthly, i.e. indicating products, volume, turnover and gross profit by customer.
  • Coordinate and direct the tender bidding process for water treatment products and services.
  • Direct, coordinate, and assess the subordinates’ lead activities to meet the targets and strategy in place.
  • Resolve customer complaints regarding sales and services.
  • Oversee the subordinates’ price submissions and carry out margin management monthly.
  • Plan and direct staffing, training, and performance evaluations to improve customer service and solutions.
  • Provide customer intelligence for principals and the technical team in identifying suitable solutions for customers.
  • Scouting for new water treatment business opportunities in the international and the mining sector.
  • Business performance assessment and reporting.
  • Directs and coordinate activities involving technical solutions for water care.
  • Confer with potential customers regarding their water treatment needs and advise customers on solutions, liaising with the technical team.
  • Prepare budgets and approve budgeted expenditures for subordinates.
  • Analyse and report the profitability of the business to operating profit level.
  • Assist the Watercare team with the technical solution offerings.
