POSITION INFO:
We are looking for a Technical Test Analyst to join our Cape Town based team. The ideal person will have a mix of Manual and Automation Testing experience (the role will lean slightly more towards Manual). Experience within the Financial Services/ Investment space will be very beneficial.
You’ll join our QA team and work closely with the business analysts, developers, and project managers in different delivery streams.
What you'll do:
- Both manual and automated testing activities during all phases of the SDLC from analysing business requirements to designing and executing test cases in different environments.Â
- Creating and updating test cases to meet the business functional requirements using XRAY test plan tool.
- Identifying functional scenarios to be automated for both SIT and Regression phase.
- Identifying, preparing and maintaining test data in different environment
- Creating, automating, and maintaining regression test pack across different work streams.
- Scheduling and maintaining of automation scrips in different environments.
- Monitoring and reporting of automation runs in different environments.
- Performing manual execution of test cases within all test cycles (Unit, System Integration, UAT, Regression, Smoke).
- Performing manual execution of test cases to resolve production bugs and incidents.
- Performing back-end (database) testing using complex SQL queries on Oracle and SQL Server databases.
- Performing component testing of APIs using SOAPUI or Bruno tool.
- Performing non-functional tests on new feature being deployed.
- Capturing and demonstrating test execution evidence to business end users for approval.
- Use of defect tracking tools such as JIRA to log, manage, resolve, and report on bugs/defects.
- Knowledge sharing with team members.
- Participating in scrum ceremonies such as sprint planning, retro etc.
- Providing progress feedback in daily stand-up meetings.
Your Expertise:
- Â Minimum 5 years of solid software testing experienceÂ
- Experience in working with Java (TestNG), Eclipse, Maven, Git, JMeter, Selenium Web driver, front-end and back-end test automation tools
- Experience working with QC/ALM, JIRA, Confluence and other collaborative tools
- Experience working with SQL queriesÂ
- Proven experience in testing Apis
- Proven experience in both white and black box testing
- Proven experience in cross-browser testing
- Proven experience in web application testing
- Ability to work within team following different development methodologiesÂ
- Knowledge of Collective Investment scheme and Unit trust domain (desirable)
Your Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent qualificationsÂ
- ISTQB Certification (desirable)
